Saturday’s tech session was a huge success. Held at Walt Soduk’s house, about a dozen members learned about some basic Porsche maintenance: oil and brakes.

The event started off with a 944 turbo. Brake pads were changed and members had a chance to see some of the then-revolutionary engineering on the 944 turbo.

Soon after, a Boxster was moved into the garage and work began on replacing brake pads. The procedure is similar to that of the 944 turbo, but has some slight differences. After rotating tires and torquing lug nuts we started on the oil change. It is a fairly simple process, but members shared their tips and tricks on not making a mess and making it easy to do.

Next up was a Cayman oil change, which is nearly the same as the Boxster. Members got to check out the smooth underside of the Cayman S.

It was a very informative day for those looking to learn about maintaining their own Porsches.

Have you ever wanted to know how to change the brake pads on your Porsche?

This Saturday October 30^th we will be having a technical session detailing how to change the brake pads on a 944 Turbo.  We will also show how to change the pads on a Boxster/Cayman.  This should be informative as well as a great chance to see a Porsche being taken apart.

This technical session will be held at Walt Soduk’s house on 2275 Applegroove Rd. in North Canton, Ohio.  Walt has a lift in his garage so we will be able to get a great view of the brakes and other sections of the car.

This is going to be a unique dinner drive since it will start at the Prime Outlets in Grove City, PA.  We will meet at the Prime Outlets in Grove City (back Bus parking lot) between 4:15-4:30PM, then depart at around 4:45PM on the drive.  You may want to arrive earlier to do some fall shopping since it is rated in the “Top 20 Outlet Malls in the U.S.” by Value Retail News.
