EBR Portage Lakes Pontoon Cruise

Come set sail with your fellow Porsche enthusiasts as EBR takes to the water for our annual pontoon boat cruise of the Portage lakes.

We will be meeting on Thursday August 16th at Dusty’s Landing II located at 401 West Turkeyfoot Lake Road Akron, OH 44319.  Please gather at the lower level near the docks at 6:15pm.   Scheduled departure for our voyage is at 6:30 pm.  In addition to the luxury 14 passenger boats, the club will provide pizza, chicken, and soft drinks.  Feel free to bring along your favorite desert or side dish if you wish.

EBR Road Trip: Porsches to Ohio (P2O)

If your still thinking of going ITS NOT TO LATE online registration is open till Thursday at midnight. I have been told by the event organizers you can even register the day of the event for 40 dollars cash or check.

Come join us for Porsches to Ohio (formally Porsches to Oxford). Hosted by the Mid-Ohio region Porsche Club of America, P2O™ is simply a “casual, Porsche Party”…giving attendees the opportunity to hang out in a great little uptown area with a bunch of other Porsche nuts. This event is held in Granville 30 minutes east of Columbus and about 2 hours from Canton, Oh.
This event is a casual atmosphere and hometown feel for all Porsche owners. Attendees park wherever they like to showcase cars among all other models and vintages; the only class is the ‘Porsche’ class . Over 400 cars are expected to participate.
We will meet at 6:15 am at the Pro Football Hall of Fame, located off of I-77 at 2121 George Halas Dr NW Canton, OH 44708 . We will depart at 6:30am and convoy to Granville together. Approximately a 2 hour drive. The show lasts until 3:15pm and everyone can exit at their convenience.

July 2012: In the Zone

July is the time for PCA’s biggest annual event, the Porsche Parade. This year it is in Salt Lake City, UT from July
7th through the 14th. Watch for a complete event review in a future issue of Panorama. Plan to come next year to
the closest Parade to you in 30 years- Traverse City, MI on June 22-29th, 2013. Check your local region’s website
and newsletter for the latest details on the many events close to you that are being planned for your enjoyment, and
check the Zone 4 Website at http://zone4.pca.org/ for other regions events, such as:

Check out the local Cars & Coffee event!!! They occur on a regular basis throughout the country on
weekend mornings. No reservations or commitment required- just clean up the car and drive it over. The
following regions are planning to participate:
o Allegheny Region- June 30th, 9 AM, Robinson Starbucks,
o Eastern Buckeye Region- (see website for time and location).
o Maumee Valley Region- July 8th at 9:30 AM, Tim Horton’s on Central Avenue.
o Northern Ohio Region- July 7th and 21st at 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the Starbucks-City View.
A great introduction to driving your Porsche in a fun and competitive manner can be found in Autocrossing
(AX). Many regions sponsor Autocross events, and they are a great event for novices and experienced
drivers alike. Check out the following events:
o Maumee Valley Region hosts IRAC IV Sunday, July 1st at Owens Community College in Toledo,

o Motorstadt Region IROC 1 on Saturday, July 14th at 8:00 AM at Spartan Speedway in Mason, MI.

o Michiana Region holds an Autocross at Tire Rack in South Bend, IN on July 29th starting at 9:00

The Mid-Ohio Region will again participate in the 30th annual Arthritis Foundation Classic Car Show and
Cruise In at the Dublin Metro Center in Dublin OH on July 6th and 7th. Registration information can be found

Central Indiana and Mid-Ohio Regions will partner for a Drivers’ Education event at Putnam Park Road
Course in Mt. Meridian, IN on July 7th and 8th. This is a great track to begin in DE – open and user-friendly,
but challenging. Join the fun and register at Club Reg.net.
Southeast Michigan Region will be hosting a one-day Drivers Education at Waterford Hills Road Racing
in Clarkston, MI on July 12th. Registration information is at www.clubregistr ation.net, go to SEMPCA.ORG
for more information.
Another one-day Driver’s Education opportunity is being held by the Eastern Buckeye Region at the
Nelsons Ledges Road Course in Garrettsville, OH on July 13th. Register at MotorsportReg.com and see the

The Ohio Valley Region is hosting their annual Top Gun Challenge Club Race and Drivers Education
event at Putnam Park Road Course in Mt. Meridian, IN July 13th through the 15th. See the OVRPCA.org

Join the Allegheny Region for the 30th running of the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix in beautiful Schenley
Park, PA on July 21st and 22nd. Concourse Car Show, catered lunch, and racing all day. Admission is free
to the event, but there is a charge for lunch and parking with the Region (charity fundraiser)- go to http://
www.MotorsportReg.com for details. Pre-registration ends July 18th.
Rally Sport Region will be hosting a one-day Drivers Education at Waterford Hills Road Racing in
Clarkston, MI on July 24th. Additional information is at www.clubregistration.net.
The Central Indiana Region is hosting a PCA Car Corral and Hospitality Suite at the “Super Weekend at
the Brickyard” (Indianapolis Motor Speedway) on July 27th (Grand Am race day). Come and join race fans
from across the country for a weekend full of every type of track action you can imagine! Event tickets are

sure to fill in your car information to be admitted to the Porsche Car Corral). Additional event details

Returning this year in a new location, the P2O™ “Casual Porsche Party” will be held in Granville, OH
on the weekend of July 27th through the 29th, sponsored by the Mid-Ohio Region. Additional details and

Charity Pancake Breakfast and Family Fun Day – June 16th

FOLLOWED BY:     Tour of MAPS Air Museum in Green!

PROCEEDS BENEFIT AKRON/CANTON FOODBANK!

 

Come help us kick-off summer with a great 2-part event to benefit a great cause. Breakfast is FREE and we will be accepting monetary donations for the Foodbank. We can serve up to 180 people, so bring your family and friends and help us raise as much money as possible for the less fortunate.

We will have a separate parking area for our Porsches so you can enjoy a mini car show with your meal.

At around 10:15 we will drive together to the MAPS Air Museum at 2260 International Parkway,North Canton, Ohio 44720 for a 10:30 tour. This wonderful Museum restores and displays military aircraft and other items and is a great experience for all ages! They will also be allowing us to park our Porsches on the tarmac near the planes, so be sure to bring your camera.

We encourage any members who can’t make it to both events to join us for one or the other. We can offer FREE breakfast for up to 180 and the museum will have plenty of guides on hand, so feel free to bring the whole gang!

June Cars and Coffee 6/2/2012

Come join us this Saturday, June 2nd 2012, for EBR’s first ever Cars and Coffee event.  This will be a casual get together where members bring their cars and enjoy coffee and the company of other members and their cars.
